For authors

Submissions Policy

What happens when you send a book enquiry to Mystic Publishing. Last updated: 1 August 2026.

Begin with an overview

Use the For Authors form to provide a working title, genre or subject, approximate word count, current stage and short explanation. Do not send a full manuscript until it is requested.

No fee and no guarantee

There is no fee for the initial enquiry. Sending information does not guarantee acceptance, publication, representation, a paid service offer or a reply within a fixed period.

Your rights

You keep all rights in your work unless a later written agreement says otherwise. A website submission does not transfer copyright, create an exclusive relationship or give Mystic Publishing permission to publish your work.

Confidentiality

Reasonable care should be taken with project information, but an initial website enquiry is not a formal confidentiality agreement. Do not submit trade secrets, passwords, payment data or information that you are not entitled to share.

Assessment

Mystic Publishing may decline work because of genre, readiness, capacity, ethical concerns or lack of a suitable route. A decline is not a judgement on the author’s worth.

Similar ideas

Books often share subjects, themes or familiar concepts. Submitting an idea does not prevent Mystic Publishing or another author from working on independently created material with similar general themes.

Next steps

If the project appears suitable, Mystic Publishing may request a synopsis, sample or manuscript and explain the next review stage. Paid work begins only under a separate written scope or agreement.
